A facelift is suitable for healthy adults who are beginning to notice the signs of aging in their facial appearance.
Signs like crow’s feet, laugh lines, loss of facial volume in the cheeks, drooping skin, and marionette lines extending from the nose to the edges of the mouth, are all signs you might be an appropriate candidate for an Atlanta facelift.
Depending on your age, the condition of your skin, and your aesthetic goals, Dr. Jones can recommend an optimal treatment plan for you, which may include a full facelift, a mini facelift, or a series of less invasive nonsurgical procedures. He may also decide to recommend a combination of surgical and nonsurgical procedures to provide the most optimal results possible.
Be sure to inform Dr. Jones about any medications that you are taking before you prepare for your Atlanta facelift procedure. You may have to suspend use of certain medications in preparation for plastic surgery. Dr. Jones will advise you before surgery of any precautions you should take in this regard.
In addition to making sure that you have someone to drive you home following your Atlanta facelift procedure, you will also need to prepare for your recovery following the surgery, as you may require several days of complete rest. Make sure you have meals prepared and frozen in advance, or arrange to have someone prepare meals for you while you recover, as you will not be able to cook for several days following the surgery.
You will also have to refrain from strenuous exercise for several weeks. Typically, bruising and swelling will peak at about two days after facelift surgery, and these symptoms may continue for several days, gradually diminishing on their own. Sutures will be removed after about a week, and full recovery typically takes about 2 weeks, although it’s recommended that you hold off on more vigorous activity for about four weeks after surgery.
